STORY

THE KNOT began during a particularly knotted chapter of my life.

I grew up in a family where objects were chosen with care, repaired when needed, kept for decades and passed down. Things carried stories long after their original purpose had passed. Beauty, longevity and making were always part of the way I understood things.

 

My background is in womenswear design, followed by years working with bags and leather goods and later, in luxury leather goods restoration.

That chapter brought me very close to the technical side of making: materials, construction, precision, repair and longevity.

Somewhere along the way, I realised that working with my hands had always been as important to me as designing.

I find some of my best ideas by making.

 

THE KNOT grew from that instinct: creating something personal, made entirely by hand, from the first material to the final piece.

Jewellery (or adornment, as I like to call it) became a new language for that.

Here, everything begins with a knot. I make every piece myself, from start to finish. Threading, tying, untying and tying again is the rhythm of my process.

 

The aim has always been creating things worth keeping, and that don’t already exist.

We tie everything twice.
