CARE AND AFTERCARE
CARE
At THE KNOT, we aim to reduce our environmental impact and that includes how we care for our products. Here are a few mindful tips to keep your knotted pieces looking great while being gentle on the planet:
T's d'Art
Washing clothes can release microfibers into the environment, contributing to pollution. We recommend airing out your T d'Art after wearing it, unless there’s a stain. This helps extend the lifetime of your piece and reduces your environmental footprint. When you need to wash:
-If possible, spot clean.
-Machine wash cold, inside out, to preserve the fabric and print.
-Do not bleach.
-Hang to dry, do not tumble dry to minimise energy usage and prevent fabric wear.
-Iron on low heat, only if necessary (do not iron directly on the print).
STRUNG
These pieces are delicate by nature — each one is hand-strung with semi-precious stones and natural materials that deserve gentle handling. To preserve their beauty and integrity:
-Clean gently using a soft, damp cloth. Do not soak or submerge in water.
-Avoid contact with perfumes, creams, hairspray and household chemicals, which may damage or dull the stones.
-Remove before showering, swimming or exercising to protect both the stones and the clasp.
-Do not hang heavy items from your necklace or apply pressure that may stretch or weaken the stringing.
-Store separately, ideally in the box we provide, to prevent tangling or abrasion.
These are pieces to wear with presence and care — not to throw around. With a little attention, they’ll stay beautiful for years to come.
By following these care instructions, you can help your knotted pieces last longer and contribute to a more sustainable wardrobe.
AFTERCARE AND REPAIR
We believe in longevity — not just in how our pieces are made to last, but in how they can live after.
Our T’s d’Art pieces are made from certified organic cotton — a durable, natural fibre that softens over time. We hope you wear them for years, but when the time comes, they can be passed on, repurposed or recycled through appropriate textile recycling systems. We encourage you to treat them not as disposable fashion, but as garments with presence and potential — their afterlife, like their wear, is in your hands.
Each STRUNG piece is designed to be repairable and rebuildable. While we can’t currently commit to offering guaranteed repairs as a small brand, we’re always open to hearing from you. If your necklace breaks or becomes worn, please reach out — we’ll do our best to help, whether through repair advice, a quote for restringing or a thoughtful solution.
And if one day your connection to the piece changes — if the length no longer suits you, or you’d like to see it reimagined in a new form — we encourage that too. These pieces can be endlessly restrung, redesigned and given new life. We hope you’ll treasure them as they are, but if not, they can evolve. That’s part of the beauty of making things by hand.
Our designs are meant to be lasting — not led by trend, but by story and feeling. But lasting doesn’t have to mean static.
