HONEST COMMITMENT

We believe fashion can — and should — be a force for good. At THE KNOT, we’re committed to ethical sourcing, responsible small production and minimising environmental impact. We partner only with those who uphold fair working conditions and rigorous sustainability standards.

The printing process involved in our T’s d’Art line operates with carbon-neutral shipping, offsetting its footprint through tree-planting initiatives. All textile waste from production is recycled and our packaging is 100% plastic-free.

Our STRUNG line of beaded pieces is entirely crafted by our hands, using semi-precious gemstones chosen with care and intention. We’ve done — and continue to do — extensive research into sourcing and we prioritise materials and suppliers who make real efforts to provide traceable origins and uphold ethical standards.

That said, honesty also means transparency. While we take every possible step to be mindful, we recognise that making anything leaves a footprint. As such a small brand, our choices — especially around sourcing gemstone beads — are limited.

Gemstones, as natural resources, are incredibly difficult to trace. They often pass through many hands — miners, cutters, dealers — making full documentation rare. At present, there are no universal certifications or independent bodies that guarantee fully transparent gemstone sourcing from mine to market.

What we can — and are committed to — do is choose to work with trusted suppliers. These include members of the UK’s National Association of Jewellers, who follow its code of conduct, uphold socially responsible practices, comply with local laws and are actively working toward better standards in an imperfect system.

We also work with small, independent companies outside formal organisations but who demonstrate a direct, transparent relationship with their sources — including those who travel to mines themselves to ensure conditions meet their own ethical standards. Our aim is to remain both discerning and open — always moving toward deeper traceability, without losing sight of the realities of small-scale making.

This is not a marketing statement. We communicate openly, from the heart, so you can make informed, conscious choices.

— Catalina, the person behind THE KNOT and writing this — find it disheartening that this even needs to be written. I strongly believe these should be baseline values, not brand differentiators. There’s something that does not sit right about having to say these things out loud — but I would rather be open than stay silent and let our efforts go unseen.

All in all, our commitment isn’t performative. It’s personal. It comes from a deep desire to create things that truly belong in your life, without harm to others or the planet.

We invite you to choose carefully, buy less and treasure more.
